Guilty Walking the Dog
Recording the daily walk on the beach for the dog and myself. She is getting older and maybe so am I. This record of time, spring, summer and fall with sunrises and sunsets marks the time we are spending together in Covid.
The process I prescribe to follows a line. This line travels with tensioned certainty. I am the reply. I am not able to relinquish the action involved in the process of the making. My work is about time and emotion with a back and forth between public and private or individual and collective thoughts that further the evolution of my work.
We may not necessarily see forward movement individually, in the historical continuum, but by the use of tension, in a philosophical, physical and sensory mode, my fiber sculptures try to capture the present tense and tensions.
